33rd Moscow International Film Festival is glad to welcome its guests at Moscow Business Square for the second time.
It is known that many international film festivals are accompanied by industry exhibitions and film market. For example, Marché du Film opens its doors during Cannes Film Festival; European Film Market takes place during Berlinale. Moscow International Film Festival is one of the oldest festivals in the world and it has always brought something innovative to Russia. For this reason, the Festival added business platform Moscow Business Square to its program. Now, producers from abroad have a new place to explore the opportunities to collaborate with Russia – a country with a multimillion audience. Today Moscow Business Square is the only business event in Russia of such a kind. No other forum or market has a comparable international focus and scope. The reason for success is a well sought-out program that takes into account needs of the target audience. Producers can easily find interesting projects here as well as to receive the latest information on financial mechanisms, production facilities available worldwide and present completed productions to distributors. We are glad that Moscow Business Square functions and develops in the frameworks of Moscow International Film Festival and wish all the participants an efficient event!
Sincerely yours,
Nikita Mikhalkov, Moscow International Film Festival President
Dear guests of Moscow Business Square 2011, on behalf of the Russian Cinema Fund let me welcome you at our young, but ambitious event! Organizing Moscow Business Square, a business platform aimed at increasing international collaboration and at industry development by enabling producers, distributors and other top-level film industry players to come together to conduct personal meetings, to participate in round table discussions, and to present their projects and countries, was a logical step in Russian Cinema Fund International department activities. Since its establishment at January of 2011, International department of Russian Cinema Fund focused on co-production development as it is an essential step on the way to integration into international business community. We invited top foreign producers and film funds to visit the 3rd Co-production Forum and to choose the most interesting projects for co-production out of those selected for the event. During “Russia-Italy. New Co-production and Distribution Possibilities” round table our colleagues will get acquainted with new mechanisms of collaboration with Italian film and TV professionals. The round table is held in the frameworks of the Year of Italy in Russia. Moscow Business Square 2011 program is diverse and I believe everyone will find something of his or her professional interest.
Good luck to all Moscow Business Square guests!
Elena Romanova, Head of International Department The Federal Fund for Social and Economic Support of the National Film Industry
Welcome to Moscow Business Square!
Since its establishment three years back, Moscow Business Square has evolved from a modest co-production forum to a serious business platform with diverse program that is able to attract approximately 350 professionals. The biggest part of Moscow Business Square visitors are film and TV industry professionals from abroad interested in relationship development with Russian film and TV companies. Such a targeted attraction of the audience to the event ensures its efficiency and makes it unique for the Russian market. This year, we would like to introduce a new program Moscow Business Square Screenings in addition to Moscow Co-production Forum, which has already become a tradition. Moscow Business Square Screenings is made for content distributors and buyers who will get a change to see foreign features produced in 2009-2011 that were not yet released in Russia. However, the commercial potential of presented films is still high. Vice versa, Russian producers will present their new projects to foreign distributors and set up business contacts. We hope that screenings program will become a heart-warming tradition at Moscow Business Square and that it will evolve into a significant instrument of audiovisual content distribution development. Round tables and presentations on urgent matters will be open to MBS guest every day. The feature of this program is a workshop held by creators of “Winged Migration” and “Oceans”, legendary documentarians Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud.
Looking forward to meeting you at Moscow Business Square,
Konstantin Nafikov, CEO Moscow Business Square |
